Objective: To compare the effectiveness of emotion regulation training and transcranial direct current stimulation intervention on improving executive functions (attention, cognitive flexibility, response inhibition, emotion control) and impulsivity in male students with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. Materials and methods: The current research is semi-experimental with pre-test-post-test and control group. The statistical population of this research included all male students of the second year of high school with attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder in Ardabil city in the academic year of 1402-1403. Sampling was also clustered. The research tools included: N-Beck computer test, Wisconsin card sorting test, dual Stroop task test, impulsivity and interventions including emotion regulation training protocol and transcranial direct current stimulation intervention. Findings: Emotion regulation training and transcranial direct current stimulation intervention have improved executive functions and reduced impulsivity in male students with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. The results of Bonferroni's post hoc test also showed that there is a significant difference between the training groups of emotion regulation transcranial direct current stimulation intervention with the control group (p<0.05). Discussion and conclusion: Emotion regulation training and transcranial direct current stimulation intervention have improved executive functions and reduced impulsivity in male students with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.

The aim of the present study was to compare the effectiveness of mindfulness training, tDCS and the combination of mindfulness training with tDCS on working memory and metamemory of adolescents. The method of the present research was carried out as a semi-experimental type with a pre-test-post-test design with a control group. The statistical population of this research was all male students studying in the ninth grade of Bowanat city in 1402-1403. The sample of this study consisted of 80 students who were selected from four schools through available sampling and the students of each school were placed as one of the four experimental groups (mindfulness training, tDCS, combining mindfulness training with tDCS) and the control group. The tools of this research included the n-Back working memory test, the meta-memory scale for teenagers, the mindfulness training package, and the estim2 device. Findings: All three methods of mindfulness training, tDCS and combining mindfulness training with tDCS were effective on working memory and extra memory. Also, the results of Bonferroni's post hoc test showed that the most effective combination of mindfulness training with tDCS was second in mindfulness training and third in tDCS.Conclusion: The results showed that mindfulness training and tDCS, each in their own place, can improve working memory and meta-memory, while combining mindfulness training with tDCS can be more effective in strengthening working memory and meta-memory in adolescents.

The present study was conducted with the aim of investigating the effectiveness of direct current transcranial electrical stimulation on working memory and response inhibition in children with autism in Zahedan. This research was practical in terms of purpose and quasi-experimental in terms of method with a pre-test-post-test design with a control group. The statistical population of this research included all children aged 10 to 12 with autism spectrum disorder who referred to the treatment centers of Zahedan city in 1402-1401 and 30 of these children with high performance (achieving a score above 85 in the Gilliam test and an IQ above 85 based on the child's file in the treatment center), were selected as a statistical sample using a targeted method and divided into two groups of 15 people (an experimental group and a control group) were randomly replaced. Subjects were evaluated through Gilliam Autism Diagnostic Scale (GARS), Stroop Test (ST), Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children 5th Edition (WISC-5) and Transcranial Direct Current Electrical Stimulation protocol. Investigating the relationships between variables was done by univariate covariance test. The results showed that there is a significant difference between the post-test scores of working memory and response inhibition of the experimental group with the scores of working memory and response inhibition in the control group, and transcranial electrical stimulation with direct current is significantly effective on working memory and response inhibition. Therefore, transcranial electrical stimulation is a useful supplement to improve and strengthen working memory and response inhibition in children with autism.

The purpose of this study was to compare the effectiveness of the tDCS method and short-term cognitive rehabilitation protocol on verbal fluency and visuospatial ability in the elderly with mild Alzheimer's disease. Methods: The research method was an extended experiment with two experimental groups and one control group, which was conducted using the pre-test and post-test method. The statistical population included elderly people over 65 years of age with mild Alzheimer's who lived in Ardabil who had been referred to a neurologist in 2022,among these people, 60 people were randomly selected into two groups. An experimental and a control group were assigned. Then tDCS method was applied for 10 sessions of 20 minutes in one experimental group and short-term cognitive rehabilitation program for 9 sessions of 90 minutes was applied in the second experimental group and no intervention was performed in the third group. The post-test was conducted at an interval of one week. After one month, the studied groups were followed up again. Aden Brook's revised version of the cognitive test was used to collect data. Findings: The results showed that tDCS significantly improves the visual component and the cognitive rehabilitation method improves perception. In general, it seems that the performed interventions improved visual spatial ability in the elderly with mild Alzheimer's disease, while they had no significant effect on the variable of verbal fluency. Conclusion: It can be concluded that both methods can be used to improve the spatial visual ability of the elderly with mild Alzheimer's disease.

Objective: The present study was conducted with the aim of Comparing the effectiveness of transcranial direct current stimulation and repeated Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation treatment on working memory, impulsivity and self-harm behaviors in people with borderline personality. Method: The current research is semi-experimental with pre-test-post-test and control groups. The statistical population of this research includes the clients of some counseling centers in Ardabil city in 1401. The sample of this study consisted of 45 people with borderline personality disorder who were selected by the available sampling method. This study included 3 groups and each group included 15 people. Each subject was randomly assigned to two treatment groups (tDCS and rTMS) and a control group. The tools of this research included N-back working memory test, Barratt Impulsivity questionnaire, self-harm questionnaire, tDCS and rTMS.Findings: The results showed that the treatment of tDCS and rTMS has a significant effect on impulsivity, working memory and self-harm in borderline personality disorder patients. And the results show that after controlling the effect of the pre-test on the post-test to compare scores, working memory, impulsivity and self-harm among the three groups, there is a significant difference at the error level (0.05). The results of Bonferroni's post hoc test also showed that between the effectiveness of the two treatment methods, rTMS treatment was more effective than tDCS. Conclusion: The results showed that tDCS and rTMS led to the improvement of working memory in people with borderline personality disorder and also reduced the level of impulsivity and self-harm behaviors.

Introduction: Emotional problems, psychological distress and cravings are some of the side effects of substance abuse. The aim of this study was compare the effect of transcranial direct current stimulation and Methadone Maintenance treatment on craving reduction, emotion regulation and distress tolerance in people with opioid use disorder. Method: The present study was a quasi-experimental. The statistical population of this study was all people admitted to addiction treatment clinics in Hamedan in 2019, which 40 patients were selected by available and voluntary sampling in two experimental groups of methadone therapy (n = 13), electrical brain stimulation (n = 13) and a control group (n = 14). Subjects completed the Emotion Regulation Difficulty Scale, Distress Tolerance Scale, and measure the temptation of substances after leaving. Data were analyzed by analysis of covariance. Results: The results showed that electrical stimulation had a significant effect on craving, emotion regulation and distress tolerance (p <0.05). Methadone therapy was effective in craving reduction and emotion regulation, but had no effect on distress tolerance. In comparison between the two experimental groups, no significant difference was observed in craving reduction (p> 0.05), but the effect of electrical stimulation on emotion regulation was greater. Conclusion: Due to the greater effect of transcranial direct current stimulation on emotion regulation and distress tolerance, it can be used as an effective and complementary treatment, along with the usual treatments for substance use disorder and the emotional distress it caused.

Introduction: The aim of this study was to effectiveness of metacognitive therapy and transcranial direct current stimulation on the executive functions of veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder. Methods: The present study is a quasi-experimental study and its research design is pre-test and post-test with a control group. Sixty PTSD veterans of Bustan Psychiatric Hospital in Ahvaz participated in study as a sample and were randomly divided into three groups of metacognitive therapy, tDCS and control. The measuring instruments were the Stroop test and the Tower of London test. Data were analyzed using ANCOVA. Results: the results showed that in the executive function test of Stroop and Tower of London in the pre-test stage there was no significant difference between groups (P <0.05) but in the post-test stage there was a significant difference between groups (0.05 > P). According to the results of Bonferroni test, there is a significant difference between the metacognitive therapy group with control (P<0.05) and tDCS with control (P<0.05) in strop and Tower of London test, but there is none significant difference between the metacognitive therapy and tDCS groups (P <0.05). Conclusion: use of metacognitive therapy approach as well as tDCS of can improve executive functions in veterans with PTSD. Therefore, it is recommended to therapists and rehabilitators and all people who deal with such people to use these two types of approaches in their daily plans and to improve executive functions.

Introduction: The present study has been done with aim to investigate the effectiveness ofCognitive behavioral group Play therapy(CBPT)and transcranial direct current stimulation(tDCS)On executive function of working memory and response inhibition of children with (ADHD).Methods:In this quasi-experimental study with pre-test and post-test and control group,49 boys ADHD 6 to 11 years old were selected by Convenience Sampling method and from two schools in Islamshahr.In the following,By doing Stanford Intelligence Test and Conner’s Parent,13 people were excluded due to absence of entry criteria.The remaining 36 boys were randomly assigned into groups of intervention and control (each group included 12 subjects).Then, tests of N-Back for measures working memory and Go-No-Go was used for measures response inhibition Before and after interventions.Interventions included CBPT 8 sessions of 60 minutes and tDCS included 10 sessions of 10 minutes with intensity of 1 mA .Data were analyzed by Software SPSS version 23.Findings: After the removal of the effect of pre-test was determined that there was no significant difference between the intervention and control groups in the working memory scores(in the number of correct responses and action speed).Also,CBPT had no significant difference in any of the response inhibition scores compared to the control group, However,tDCS had a significant difference with the control group in the scores of action accuracy and action speed was.Conclusion:the CBPT method is not effective in improving active memory and inhibition of response,and tDCS method is only effective in improving response inhibition.children with ADHD disorders using tDCS can be more control their impulsivity.

Introduction:The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of electrical stimulation of the brain cortex on reducing and improving behavioral problems in children with ADHD disorders aged 7-12 years.Method: 22 children from 7 to 12 years of age whose attention deficit hyperactivity disorder was confirmed by a psychologist or psychiatrist, or diagnosed with Clinical interview based on DSM-V diagnostic criteria and Parent Conners Test, Were divided into two experimental and control groups. Before the treatment, CBCL questionnaire was performed for children in both groups. The experimental group was treated by transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) at FC3 and FC4 sites for 15 days. CBCL test was performed after treatment and again at intervals of two months after the completion of treatment.Results: Analysis of the research data with central indicators, Average and standard deviations, and variance with repeated measurements showed a significant difference between the behavioral Features of children under treatment and the children of the control group.Conclusion: transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) in the FC3 and FC4 regions can help improve the behavioral Features of hyperactive children.
