The aim of the present study was to investigate the effectiveness of computerized cognitive rehabilitation on impulsivity and mindfulness in patients with schizophrenia. Method: This research was applied in purpose and semi-experimental (quasi-experimental) in design, employing a pre-test-post-test approach with a control group. The statistical population of this study included all individuals diagnosed with schizophrenia who met the inclusion criteria and were hospitalized at the Darolshafa chronic psychiatric rehabilitation center in Ardabil during the period of 1403-1404 (2024-2025). The instruments used in this study were the Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS) by Kay et al. (1986), the Five-Factor Mindfulness Questionnaire (FFMQ) by Baer (2006), and the Impulsivity Questionnaire by Barratt (2004). Findings: The results of univariate analysis of covariance revealed that computerized cognitive rehabilitation significantly reduced impulsivity in the patients. Considering the significance level (P < 0.005) and effect size (η² = 0.258), it can be concluded that this intervention effectively improved impulsivity scores. Discussion and Conclusion: The findings indicate the effectiveness of computerized cognitive rehabilitation in enhancing impulsivity control and mindfulness in schizophrenia patients.

Objective: To compare the effectiveness of emotion regulation training and transcranial direct current stimulation intervention on improving executive functions (attention, cognitive flexibility, response inhibition, emotion control) and impulsivity in male students with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. Materials and methods: The current research is semi-experimental with pre-test-post-test and control group. The statistical population of this research included all male students of the second year of high school with attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder in Ardabil city in the academic year of 1402-1403. Sampling was also clustered. The research tools included: N-Beck computer test, Wisconsin card sorting test, dual Stroop task test, impulsivity and interventions including emotion regulation training protocol and transcranial direct current stimulation intervention. Findings: Emotion regulation training and transcranial direct current stimulation intervention have improved executive functions and reduced impulsivity in male students with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. The results of Bonferroni's post hoc test also showed that there is a significant difference between the training groups of emotion regulation transcranial direct current stimulation intervention with the control group (p<0.05). Discussion and conclusion: Emotion regulation training and transcranial direct current stimulation intervention have improved executive functions and reduced impulsivity in male students with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.

Objective: The present study was conducted with the aim of Comparing the effectiveness of transcranial direct current stimulation and repeated Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation treatment on working memory, impulsivity and self-harm behaviors in people with borderline personality. Method: The current research is semi-experimental with pre-test-post-test and control groups. The statistical population of this research includes the clients of some counseling centers in Ardabil city in 1401. The sample of this study consisted of 45 people with borderline personality disorder who were selected by the available sampling method. This study included 3 groups and each group included 15 people. Each subject was randomly assigned to two treatment groups (tDCS and rTMS) and a control group. The tools of this research included N-back working memory test, Barratt Impulsivity questionnaire, self-harm questionnaire, tDCS and rTMS.Findings: The results showed that the treatment of tDCS and rTMS has a significant effect on impulsivity, working memory and self-harm in borderline personality disorder patients. And the results show that after controlling the effect of the pre-test on the post-test to compare scores, working memory, impulsivity and self-harm among the three groups, there is a significant difference at the error level (0.05). The results of Bonferroni's post hoc test also showed that between the effectiveness of the two treatment methods, rTMS treatment was more effective than tDCS. Conclusion: The results showed that tDCS and rTMS led to the improvement of working memory in people with borderline personality disorder and also reduced the level of impulsivity and self-harm behaviors.

Introduction: In this study the features extracted from EEG signal and Integrated Visual and Auditory test (IVA) was used to determine the level of attention deficit and impulsivity. Methods: Participants were selected from children with ADHD using the convenience sampling method. 50 children (32 boys and 18 girls) with mean and standard deviation of age 1.90 ± 9.17 years have been selected. Subjects first participated in the IVA test. Then, EEG signal was recorded with eyes-closed and eyes-open conditions. Spearman correlation and multiple linear regression were used to evaluate the fetures and prediciting attention deficit and impulsivity. Results: Results showed, all parameters extracted from IVA had a significant negative correlation (p<0.05) with the level of attention deficit in ADHD children. Also, theta beta ratio of EEG in the closed-eye condition had a significant positive correlation (p<0.05) with the impulsivity index. In the regression results, the visual focus index of IVA was able to predict attention deficit in children with ADHD (R2=0.391, p<0.00001). Also, the reaction time of children in response to visual and auditory stimuli in IVA test, and the theta beta ratio of brain waves each separately were able to predict impulsivity (R2=0.22, p<0.05). Conclusion: Therefore, IVA variables could have played a more effective role in predicting the level of attention deficit. But the performance of the theta beta ratio of brain waves and the IVA test was similar in predicting the level of impulsivity. Therfore, IVA variables and theta beta ratio of brain waves can play an effective role in predicting ADHD.

Introduction: The main aim of present study was to compare the effect of Neurofeedback training and Neurofeedback along with cognitive rehabilitation on ADHD children’s improvement. Method: To do so, 20 elementary students with ADHD were selected among Tehran clinics’ clients through purposive sampling. For assessing attention, TOVA test was conducted by all subjects as continues performance test. Subjects were divided in to two groups; 10 subjects received Neurofeedback training alone and another group trained Neurofeedback along with cognitive rehabilitation. Training session were conducted for 10 weeks; each week three sessions. Data were analyzed using Analysis of Covariance (ANCOVA). Findings: The results showed that effect size of Neurofeedback along with cognitive rehabilitation was higher than Neurofeedback training alone on impulsivity problems’ reduction. Conclusion: The results of this study showed that Neurofeedback can decrease signs of ADHD and the effect of Neurofeedback can be more obvious if cognitive rehabilitation is added.

Introduction: Given the protecting and aggravating role of cognitive emotion regulation strategies in Pathology, this study examined the mediating role of cognitive emotion regulation in the relationship between Brain-Behavioral Systems and impulsivity with craving in stimulant addiction. Method: In this study that was a descriptive and correlational design, 249 stimulants drug users who had been detoxified by purposeful sampling, and considering exclusion and inclusion criteria, were selected. Barratt Impulsiveness Scale, Behavioral Inhibition System (BIS) and Behavioral Activation System (BAS) Scales (Carver & White, 1994), short form of Persian version of cognitive emotion regulation questionnaire and desire for drug questionnaire were used to collect the data. Regression and path analysis were used to analyze the data. Findings: Sequential Regression analysis according to steps that had been suggested by Baron and Kenny (1986) reveald that maladaptive emotion regulation strategies can significantly have a mediating role between BAS and impulsivity with craving. Conclusion: Maladaptive emotion regulation strategies are one of the aggravating factors in craving related problems of stimulant drug users. This research suggests that intervention and relapse prevention programs must be designate considering the craving related emotion regulation strategies.
