The present study aimed to determine the effectiveness of cognitive rehabilitation on improving reaction time, planning and response inhibition in bipolar patients. This research was a semi-experimental design with pre-test-post-test and control group. The study population consisted of patients with bipolar disorder who referred to psychiatric specialists, clinics and specialized centers of psychiatric services in Tabriz city in 2022 (October to March). Using convenience sampling method, 40 subjects were selected and randomly assigned in experimental and control groups (15 subjects in each group). They were assessed by Mania-Young Scale, Continuous Visual Performance Test (CPT-V), Chronoscope device (reaction time), Tower of London test. The experimental group received cognitive rehabilitation for 6 sessions and no intervention was applied to the control group. Finally, the post-test was implemented. Data were analyzed by Multivariate analysis of Covariance. Results showed that cognitive rehabilitation was effective in improving reaction time, planning and response inhibition in bipolar patients. Consequently, it could be stated that in improving the cognitive abilities of bipolar patients, the application of rehabilitation could provide appropriate setting for other therapeutic interventions.

Aim:The impairment in Cognitive functions is common symptoms of Depression. The purpose of this research is investigation of the effect of transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) on risky Decision-Making and reaction times (RT) in patients with Depression. Methods: Thirty university students with depressive symptoms who were referred to the Counseling Center of Azarbaijan Shahid Madani University were selected and randomly divided into two groups : experimental and control groups (n=15 per group). The experimental group received anodal-tDCS stimulation over the left DLPFC for two weeks, 5 days a week and each session for 20 minutes. Risky decision making and reaction time were assessed by Balloon Analogue Risk Task (BART) and reaction timer apparatus, respectively. The obtained data were analyzed using covariance analysis and paired t-test. Findings: The Results showed that the reaction times of both hands and feet was significantly faster in experimental group than sham group (p <0.05). Moreover, adjusted mean number of pumps (AMP) was lower in the experimental group than in the control group, during the BART task. Conclusion: according to our result, anodal tDCS stimulation reduced reaction time and decreased risk-taking behaviors. Therefore, transcranial electrical stimulation can be usedas a non-pharmacological and safe intervention to improve cognitive impairment to enhance the cognitive functions in people with depression.

Aim: Introduction: Techniques that directly examine and regulate the activity of the cortex can helps to improving working memory and response time. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of cerebral magnetic stimulation on working memory and reaction time in athlete girls. Method: This study was semi-experimental method which was carried out using two groups with pre-test- and post-test design. A sample of 30 female athletes from the city of Shadegan were selected by sampling method and participated in the research process. First, a pre-test was taken. All respondents tested the reaction time and also a working memory test was taken. Subjects were randomly divided into two groups: transcranial Direct Current Stimulation and sham group. Acquisition stage was held in 2 days and a one rest day in between. Results: The results showed that brain of transcranial Direct Current Stimulation improved the progressive working memory, postoperative, mental control, logical memory, and retrieval. It also reduces the simple reaction time and selective. Conclusion: In a general conclusion, direct brain stimulation in the prefrontal cortex in female students is one of the ways that can improve working memory and reduce the reaction time in athlete girls.

Introduction: Thus, this study was aimed to investigate the first stimulus simplification and significant interference on the second reaction time. Dual stimulus task is an appropriate way to investigate humans’ limited capacity of information processing. Methods: The participants included 17 male students of Shahid Chamran University whose age average was 23.45±1.54. All of them performed a dual task test within four intervals of 50, 100, 300, 900 ms between asynchronous onset of two stimuli under congruent and incongruent and neutral conditions. Findings: The results of ANOVA with repeated measure at the significance level of P˃0.05 indicated that simplification of the first congruent stimulus, compared to incongruent and neutral stimuli; reduces the reaction time for second congruent and neutral stimuli. The required change of attention processes in dual task with second incongruent stimulus causes on significant effect of first congruent and neutral stimulus precedence over second incongruent stimulus. Conclusion: The findings suggest that simultaneous performance of dual tasks with high information processing capacity or divided attention among non-automatized tasks should be avoided. Moreover, for intial of simplification processes and significant interference at leat 100 ms be required.

Introduction: Normative feedback includes information that can affect learning and the performance of skills. The purpose of the present study was to examine the effect of nnormative feedback on the reaction time and self-efficacy of female students with intellectual disability. Method: In this semi-experimental study, 42 female students of the same IQ were selected through convenience sampling. Having administered the pretest, the participants were divided into three groups of 14: normative feedback, reality feedback and control. The study consisted on three tests: pre-test, post-test and retention test. The retention test was performed 48 hours after the post -test. Findings: The research data were analyzed through SPSS and results of ANOVA-repeated measure test indicated that, the Positive feedback group in comparison with reality feedback and control, has shown a shorter reaction time, Also reality feedback group in comparison with control group has shown a shorter simple reaction time. But normative feedback on the selection reaction time had no effect. The positive feedback and the reality feedback could actually increase the self-efficacy of the students. Conclusion: Overall, it can be concluded that the normative feedback causes learning promotion and increases self-efficacy.
